Beastie Boys: End Of An Era.

Last month The Beastie Boys announced that there would not be anymore albums with them as a trio following the death of member Adam Yauch. They really went back to basics with their last album "Hot Sauce Committee. It was very reminiscent of earlier albums like "Ill Communication" and "Check Your Head".  Keep reading to learn a little more about the final album by the Beastie Boys.

I had been a huge fan of The Beastie Boys since I was in 3rd grade. "License To Ill" was a huge hit and "Fight For Your Right" was an inescapable single. I was a late bloomer to the world of rap and I credit this band for leading me to other rap artists like N.W.A, Grandmaster Flash, RUN D.M.C., LL Cool J, and Digital Underground.

Come my high school years in the mid 90's The Beasties had grown into a trio who was at the peak of their creativity. Albums like "Paul's Boutique" "Check Your Head" and "Ill Communication" were completely all unique and special albums that focused on innovative sounds and embraced the world of alternative music. I also remember seeing Adam Yauch on MTV organizing The Tibetan Freedom Concert and having his friends and contemporaries like Bjork, Sonic Youth, Beck, The Foo Fighters and others contribute to the concert. Adam Yauch had a profound effect on my outlook and beliefs in life. Buddhism, Pacifism, peace, love and acceptance of others were all things I learned from Adam Yauch and will be forever grateful for him as a role model. My favorite memory of the band will be when they guest hosted MTV'S 120 Minutes.

If you are a fan of The Beasties I encourage you to reserve a copy of their last record by clicking on the link below.
